NB Passenger Seating provides seating for public transport. We supply operators and manufacturers of buses, trains, trams, coaches and ferries across Australia. We help them design a customised, modern and innovative seating solution, build it for installation and maintain and support it throughout its life.

Through our sister company NB Trimming, we also maintain and refurbish a range of existing seats.

Although primarily in public transport, we are also seeing a growing demand from healthcare providers for anti-bacterial seating to help prevent the spread of hospital acquired infections (HAIs) in patient waiting areas.

NB Passenger Seating was founded in 2010 by Nick Barrese, who had worked in the industry for 30 years. We have a factory and offices at Somerton, Victoria.

After extensive market research, we selected STER, a European market leader in public transport seating, as our provider of choice. NB Passenger Seating is the sole distributor in Australia for STER – we import their seats and assemble and finish them at our factory facility in Somerton, Victoria.

Based in Poland, STER is one of the world leaders in public transport seating. It has delivered over 1,000,000 seats and its products are installed in 50% of all commuter buses in the US and extensively in the Europe.

STER has a team of 450 highly qualified research, engineering and manufacturing staff. The R&D team, based in Swadzim, are responsible for many original and patented designs, innovative research and development, as well as improvements in the production process at its state of the art plant at Szamotuly.

 Since 2011, STER has been the pioneer in the ultra-light seat, and still offers the lightest seats available in the industry.
